Hard to believe it’s been 5 years already!
On this day, back in 2019, KB Digital won the Best Photo contest that was hosted by the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, often referred to as RACVB. We were overjoyed when we were notified that we won and to this day that award is near and dear to us. Rockford is such a beautiful city and has a lot of very talented photographers in the area, so for us to be recognized like that truly meant a lot to us.
We remember all the other entries in the contest and admired all the artistic work of everyone who submitted images. Even more so, we remember everything we had to do to capture the winning image. It was not one that we pulled from our archives, but instead we went out and photographed a brand new one just for the contest. Obviously, it payed off.
Of course, like most photographers, we have thousands upon thousands of images stored on hard drives and backed up everywhere. Having been in Rockford for the last 25 years, our collection is quite extensive and abundant, but we knew we wanted something in the moment. As soon as the contest was announced, we picked out 5 different days and drove around town to try and capture the photo. Of course, we ended up picking downtown as believe that the Rock River means so much to this area.
Our photography has progressed since then, and our style may have changed a little bit, but nonetheless we continue to photograph Rockford and showcase all over the internet.
