The Forest City celebrated Independence Day with a parade on July 4, 2026 in downtown Rockford, Illinois. State Street was lined with crowds ready to see the parade floats go by and of course the kids were ready for all the candy. Everything seemed a bit more red, white and blue this year since this marks the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
